The NCAA unveiled the bracket for this year’s baseball tournament and Big Ten baseball champion Nebraska is the #2 seed at the Fayetteville NCAA Regional/

The 31-12 Husker will play 3 seed Northeastern on Friday at 6 PM (MT) on ESPN. It’s the first meeting between the Huskers and the 36-10 Northeastern Huskies, who won the 2021 CAA Tournament title.

There are 16 regionals made up of 4 teams playing in a double-elimination format, all from Fri-Mon. The other teams at Fayettville are #1 overall seed and host Arkansas and NJ Institute of Technology.

This is Nebraska’s 17th NCAA Tournament appearance and the 14th appearance in the last 21 seasons – not counting last year’s COVID season. The Huskers made back-to-back trips in 2001 and 2002 under Dave Horne, now the head coach at Arkansas, with Husker head coach Will Bolt a 4-year starter and captain.

The Southeastern Conference matched its record with 7 teams hosting regionals. The Regional winners advance to best-of-3 super regionals and those 8 winners go on to the College World Series in Omaha.
