The Nebraska women’s basketball team is making its first postseason appearance in four years when it opens the WNIT against UT-Martin this morning in Memphis.
The Huskers are at-large selection into the tourney field and are playing in their first WNIT since the 2015-16 season. Nebraska went 1-1 in the Big Ten tourney last week and finished the regular season at 12-12.
The Skyhawks come in with a 20-5 record and were regular season champions of the Ohio Valley Conference earned them the auto bid to the WNIT after they were upset in the conference tournament.
This year each team is guaranteed two games meaning that the Huskers will either play Colorado or Louisiana on Saturday with UT-Martin playing the opponent Nebraska will not face.
