Injured Broncos QB Lock Still Active, Can Watch Practice

The Denver Broncos didn’t place quarterback Drew Lock on injured reserve even though he’ll miss three to five weeks with a sprained right shoulder.

The Broncos decided to keep Lock on the active roster so that he can return to practice whenever his shoulder is healthy. Lock also is allowed to attend practices where he can ask questions and take so-called mental reps while Jeff Driskel is starting in his place.

Lock wasn’t allowed on the practice field last year while he was on injured reserve with a sprained thumb.
