Kansas State Runs Past South Dakota 34-0

Kansas State’s Malik Knowles took the opening handoff of the game 75 yards for a touchdown and the Wildcats never looked back in rolling over FCS South Dakota 34-0 Saturday night in the season opener for both teams.

Quarterback Adrian Martinez, who broke most of Nebraska’s passing and total offense records in four years as a starter before transferring last winter, had a quiet debut for K-State. Martinez was 11 of 15 for just 43 yards through the air while running for 39 yards and a touchdown.

Deuce Vaughn led Kansas State with 126 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Carson Camp had 139 yards passing and an interception for South Dakota
