The Crawford Rams came out on top Tuesday in a five-set thriller over Edgemont, taking the 3-2 win.
Edgemont took an early lead in the opening set, but the Rams rallied to a 9-5 lead. A 5-0 run by the Moguls reversed the set in Edgemont’s favor, and the teams tied at set points 10, 11, 12 and 13 before the Rams gained steam and claimed a 25-17 win. Crawford opened the second set with a 3-0 head start, but the Moguls took a 12-10 lead before it see-sawed back to Crawford at 20-17. Momentum shifted again, and the Moguls took the set 25-23. Edgemont also clinched the third set 25-22, coming back from a six-point deficit to put themselves in the position to win the game in the fourth.
Crawford didn’t allow that, however, forcing a fifth set with a 25-18 win. The Rams were down by two early in the set but built up a 17-15 lead and never let it go. The final showdown included four ties at set points 2, 3, 5 and 10 before the Rams were able to take and maintain the advantage on the scoreboard. Crawford won the final set and the game 15-12. The Rams are now 6-5 on the year.
