The Sioux County Lady Warriors easily won over the Garden County Eagles Tuesday night on the strength of four quarters with double digit production and locked-down defensive play.
Both teams entered the contest with 2-0 records, and the win moves the Warriors to 3-0 in the early season.
The Warriors won 64-26 after starting with a 16-3 first frame in which five players posted points on the board. Sioux County went five of seven from the charity stripe in the first quarter. Four Sioux County teammates scored in the second, and the team’s free throw percentage remained respectable as they netted five of nine. The second half was nearly identical to the first, minus the free throws, and the Warriors’ starting five spent the final minutes on the bench as the second string and junior varsity players took over.
In all, nine separate players found the bucket for the Warriors. Sioux County hit 17 field goals and six treys in the contest and went 12 of 23 at the free throw line.
