Lady Warriors Earn Decisive Wins

Sioux County picked up two decisive victories, defeating Garden County and Minatare by more than 30 points each on back-to-back nights.

The Lady Warriors held Garden County to just one basket in the opening quarter of their 57-26 win last Thursday. Senior Beth Krein dropped two treys and 11 points in the first quarter to help the Warriors to an early 18-2 lead and added five more before half-time. The Warriors led 32-9 at the break and carried the momentum into the second half, outscoring Garden County 25-17.

Sioux County continued its winning streak Friday with a 65-20 rout of Minatare.

The Warriors saw scoring from nine players in the victory as they raced out to a 21-4 lead after the first quarter with more than half of those early points coming from Megan Comstock and Britney Klein. Sioux County added 22 to the board in the second frame by seven players. The Warriors continued to produce in the third quarter with a 17-11 run over Minatare, and shut them out 5-0 in the final eight minutes. The Warriors were led by Beth Krein with 12 points, while Corina Meyers led Minatare with eight.
