Lady Warriors Sweep Creek Valley Storm

The Lady Warriors swept the Creek Valley Storm 25-14, 25-14, 25-18 behind hitting by Kailey Klein and Beth Krein.

Klein and Krein hammered out eight kills apiece, and each added a block at the net for good measure. Klein also had an ace serve.

The Warriors controlled the entire first set, taking an early lead and widening it after four consecutive ace serves by Tamika Eastman, who also had three kills on the night. Eastman’s aces came in a series that had her at the serving line nine times and included a kill by Krein and two consecutive kills by Klein to make it 13-5. Sioux County landed four more kills, an ace serve and a block to close out the set.

Momentum shifted early in the second, with the Storm taking a 6-1 lead, on two kills, an ace serve and a block while the Warriors struggled to find their footing. A string of errors by Creek Valley, however, narrowed their margin and consecutive kills by Britney Klein, Krein and Eastman tied the set at seven. After ties at eight and nine, the Warriors landed back-to-back kills by Krein and K. Klein to take an 11-9 lead and never looked back.

The Storm looked to force a fourth set as the third opened, again taking an early 3-1 lead but hit the ball out-of-bounds three times to give Sioux County an edge. A missed serve by B. Klein handed the lead back to the Storm, and they opened up a 9-5 advantage. Kills by K. Klein and Skylar Edmund kept the Warriors within reach and able to tie the set at 12. Kills by Eastman and Krein and an Edmund ace pushed the Warriors ahead 15-12, and Sioux County was able to survive four errors in the final two set points for the 25-18 victory and sweep.
