The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference released its annual Wrestling All-RMAC awards on Wednesday, in an announcement at RMACSports.org. Two Chadron State College men’s wrestlers were selected to the All-RMAC Second Team, by a vote of the league’s eight head men’s wrestling coaches.

Ethan Leake, the Eagles’ national qualifier at 141 pounds, was one of 11 in the conference named to the Second Team, due to a tie in the 125-pound weight class. The sophomore from Clovis, California, finished as regional runner-up, at the NCAA Super Region VI Championships in Grand Junction, Colorado. Leake made the finals by winning decisions against two nationally-ranked opponents, seeded No. 1 and No. 4 at the meet. He then fell to a third nationally ranked opponent in the finals.

Mason Watt, junior of Broomfield, Colorado, entered the regional with an 8-2 record, and was 5-1 in the RMAC, after knocking off a pair of ranked opponents over the course of the season and coming close against a third. He went 3-2 to place fifth in Grand Junction, finishing one round short of a national qualifying shot. Watt finished the year ranked No. 11 by IntermatWrestle.com. Watt was also named to the Second Team.

RMAC Wrestler of the Year was awarded to Noah Hermosillo of Adams State University. The Freshman of the Year award went to Dawson Collins of Colorado Mesa University. ASU’s Jasom Ramstetter received Coach of the Year.
