Cody-Kilgore and Arthur County remain after the completion of the quarterfinal round of the playoffs on Friday night.
Cody-Kilgore blasted 2nd seeded and undefeated Potter-Dix 42-8 to advance to the D6 semifinals. Arthur County avenged a late season loss to Creek Valley by holding off the Storm 55-38 also in the D6 playoffs.
Sandhills/Thedford stayed alive in the D2 postseason with a 50-8 win over Pleasanton.
It was a bad night for the top seeds in the state’s largest classes as the number one seeds in Class A, B, and C1 all lost.
The semifinals will be played next Friday.
In South Dakota, Wall and Kadoka Area saw their seasons end. Wall lost to Warner in the 9A semifinals 26-0 and Kadoka Area lost a late lead to lose 30-28 to Dell Rapids St. Mary.
Lusk and Torrington are going to play for state championships in Wyoming. Lusk took care of Rocky Mountain 52-35 in the 1A 9-man semifinals and Torrington defeated Mountain View 31-20 in the 2A semifinals.
