The Lusk football team will have to wait another week before they get to kick off their season.

St. Stephens, their week one opponent, announced on Wednesday night that they would be forfeiting this Friday’s game citing numbers, lack of practices, eligibility, and injuries.

That means the #1 ranked team in 9-Man will now face #4 Pine Bluffs on the road next Friday.

It’s not the first cancellation in the Cowboy state this week.

Burns had to forfeit their border battle with Mitchell due to COVID issues, and Thermopolis has forfeited their game with Tongue River this Friday and have moved the following weeks game with Big Piney to Tuesday, October 19th as the school deals with what they are calling a COVID outbreak.
