Lusk’s Caldera Sweeps Gold, Ladwig Takes 2nd In Hurdles At Wyo State Track


 Lusk Senior Jasper Caldera completed the shot put/discus sweep on Saturday at the Wyoming state track meet in Casper.

Caldera won the discus title on Friday with a toss of 157’ 4”, clearing the rest of the field by 14 feet.  On Saturday he tossed the shot put 50’ 7” in his winning effort. Teammate Dylan Molzahn placed third with a throw of 46’ 1”, just 8-inches behind runner-up Josh Thompson of Big Horn.

Jazmine Ladwig was impressive in her 100m hurdle final, taking 2nd place with a time of 17.85-seconds, a half second faster than her qualifying time in the prelims but 8-hundreths of a second behind champion Adelaide Williams of Glenrock.

Lady Tiger Freshman Melody ZumBrunnen capped off her first state meet appearance by placing 5th in the 400m and a 7th in both the 100m and 200m.

In the 2A team races the Lusk boys finished tied for 7th with Wind River with 31 points, and the Lusk girls placed 14th out of 16 with 18 points.
