Lusk’s Caldera Wins Gold In 2A Discus

Jasper Caldera of Lusk dominated the boys 2A discus Friday at the Wyoming State Track Meet in Casper. Caldera’s throw of 157-4 was the winner by over 14-feet. He’ll go for the gold again Saturday in the shot put.

Aric Eaton added a 4th for the Tiger boys in the pole vault while Anna Richardson placed 7th in the girls shot put.

Lusk freshman Melody ZumBrunnen had a good day as she qualified for Saturday’s finals in 3 events – finishing with the 6th-fastest time in the 100 and the 5th-fastest in both the 200 and 400.

ZumBrunnen and teammate Renae Marker weren’t as successful in the high jump where they were 10th and 12th, respectively, while David West was one of 6 vaulters who failed to clear a height.

Saturday’s schedule for the Lusk girls has ZumBrunnen in her 3 events and Jazmine Ladwig in the 110 hurdles. Ladwig had the 3rd fastest time in qualifying on Thursday.  For the boys, Caldera and Dylan Molzahn are in the shot, where they have the 2 longest 2A throws in the state

Just like Friday, Saturday’s action will be split into two sessions.
