Bailey Marvel, a sophomore shortstop for the Chadron State College softball team, was named to the All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Gold Glove Team, in a release Wednesday, at RMACSports.org.

Marvel, a native of Lakewood, Colorado, had the highest fielding percentage, at .972, of all full-time shortstops in the RMAC and the entire NCAA South Central Region. She led the RMAC in assists and was third in the region.

Offensively, she led the Eagles with a .399 batting average, and she was 19-of-23 on stolen base attempts, tying her for second-most steals in the league. She scored a team-high 34 runs, as well.

Marvel also received All-RMAC honorable mention for her all-around play this season. Honorable mention requires either one All-RMAC First Team vote from the league’s coaches, or multiple Second Team votes.

Three players received major awards from the RMAC. The Player of the Year was Colorado Mesa’s Ellie Smith, CMU’s Paige Adair was the Pitcher of the Year, and Freshman of the Year went to MSU Denver’s Shelby Robb.

The RMAC Coach of the Year was CMU interim head coach Mercedes Bohte.
