Mike Purcell Not Getting Comfy In His Late Bloomer Success

Denver Broncos nose tackle Mike Purcell finally has an established role and a starting position eight years after going undrafted out of the University of Wyoming.

Purcell had a career-best 48 tackles for the Broncos last season after missing the 2018 season and spending the 2017 season on the practice squads of the New England Patriots, Chicago Bears and Kansas City Chiefs.

When Broncos coach Vic Fangio approached Purcell to ask him how it felt to finally have a starting job in the league Purcell said he was still going to approach his job as if he’s the underdog.
