Minatare Cowboy 10th In Tie-Down Roping At National High School Finals Rodeo Posted by John Axtell Date: July 26, 2021 5:41 pm Leave a comment 251 Views The National High School Finals Rodeo wrapped up its week-long run in Lincoln on Saturday and one Panhandle cowboy made the championship go-round. Trace Travnicek of Minatare finished 10th out of 133 competitors in Tie-Down Roping. Travnicek was 9th in the opening round, 34th in the 2nd, and 6th in the finals. Matt Miller of Callaway finished right behind Travnicek in 11th after winning the opening round in Tie-Down Roping and placing in the finals. There were 2 other top 5-finishes for Nebraska. Jessica Stevens of Creighton was 4th in Goat-Tying and Brody McAbee of Ansley placed 5th in Saddle Broncs. For Wyoming, Haiden Thompson of Yoder won the Goat-Tying crown, the Team Roping duo of Mason Trollinger of Casper and Teagan Bentley of Casper was 3rd and Ashlyn Goven of Rozet was 5th in Pole Bending, South Dakota had a national runner-up as Talon Elshere of Hereford missed the title in Saddle Broncos by 1-½ points. Grey Gilbert of Buffalo was 4th in Steer Wrestling.
