Two Crawford Rams hit the mats Saturday at the Chase County Invite, and Paden Morava brought home some hardware.
Morava went 2-2 and finished fourth place overall in the 126 weight class. Morava won his opening match with a fall over Chase County’s Malachi Christensen in 4:42. He dropped his semi-finals match in a 9-7 decision to Keltin Vanarsdall of Hershey and then earned a win by fall over Lucas Ellis of Minatare in 3:29.
His two early wins earned him a spot in the third-place match, where he lost as 12-5 decision to Mason Toner of Perkins County.
Kolby Welling won four matches Saturday, earning a win by fall in 1:28 over Blake Emig of Dundy County-Stratton. He also defeated Thomas Reeves of Chase County by fall in 1:34. He also picked up a technical fall win over Christopher Gaul of Bayard, 19-4. Finally, Welling made quick work of Grant Statz of Sedgwick County/Fleming, winning by fall in 44 seconds.
