Broncos Ask Court To Verify Right Of First Refusal Is Void Posted by Jeremy Anderson Date: January 26, 2021 175 Views The parent companies of the Denver Broncos are asking a state judge to rule against the estate of the man whom Pat Bowlen bought the team from in 1984. Bowlen agreed to give Edgar Kaiser the right of first refusal on any subsequent sale of the team. The Broncos contend that agreement ended upon Kaiser’s death in 2012. Bowlen died in 2019. A lawyer representing the Kaiser estate informed the Broncos last spring that Kaiser had transferred his stake in the agreement to a corporation he started called ROFR Holdings. That’s an acronym for Right of First Refusal.
