The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Chancellor Ronnie Green and system president Ted Carter released a joint statement on Thursday morning reaffirming the schools commitment to the Big Ten Conference.
The two paragraph statement said, “The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is a fully committed member of the Big Ten Conference. It is an unparalleled academic and athletic alliance.”
In went on to say,” We have the greatest fans in college athletics. This has been a difficult and disappointing week for the Husker family. We all look forward to the day when we can cheer on our student-athletes, on the field and in the arena.”
The Big Ten Conference had announced on Tuesday that it was pushing all fall sports back to the spring of 2021. On Monday, Nebraska head football coach Scott Frost had said that the university would look to try to play some semblance of a fall schedule, causing a brief ripple across the national landscape.
