NINE & OH! Chadron Finishes Off Undefeated Regular Season

A pair of Justus Alcorn 4th quarter touchdown runs broke open a 14-8 game and sent Chadron to a perfect 9-0 regular season record and the C1-8 district championship with a 35-8 win over Ogallala.

The Cardinals got on the board first on their opening drive off the legs of a Dawson Dunbar touchdown run. After Ogallala picked off an Alcorn pass, the Indians punched in their only score on a short field to put Chadron behind for the first time this season.

After a stagnant 2nd quarter that included a Chadron defensive goal line stand, the score stood at 8-7 Ogallala at the break.

After forcing an Ogallala 3-and-out, Alcorn found Seth Gaswick in flats and he ran it in from 36 yards out to put the Cards up 14-8.

Earlier in the 4th Chadron established the run game with Alcorn as he’d score his back to back rushing scores to put the game out of reach. Dunbar would add a 2nd rushing touchdown late in the game to cap off the win.

Chadron’s 9-0 record gives them their first undefeated regular season since 2009, and will give the Cards a home playoff game next Friday

We will update playoff information when it becomes available.
