The Chadron High boys golf team had a new leader in the clubhouse on Thursday as Chase Olson shot a season best round of 87 to place 8th at the Chadron Invite.
Olson was propelled by a back-9 round of 41 after a 46 on the front 9.
Jacksyn Behrends was two off the top 10 with a 90. Broc Berry carded a 92.
Mitchell’s Austin Thyne was the champ with a 76, two strokes better than Crayton Cyza of Alliance.
The Bulldogs beat Mitchell in the team race 330 to 343. Chadron tallied a season best 373.
Crawford was led by a 104 from Roman Metz. Gabe Varvel had a 104 for Hay Springs, and Jace Nelson carded a 95 for Gordon-Rushville.
Chadron is off until Tuesday’s Gering meet. Crawford will host the Panhandle Conference golf meet on Monday.
