Playoffs Roll On In Tri-State Region

Berths in championship games are on the line tonight in South Dakota and Wyoming as they move into the semifinal rounds of the playoffs while Nebraska plays out their quarterfinals in all six classes.

It’s a short list of regional teams in South Dakota as Wall remains the only Southwest team left in any bracket. The unbeaten Eagles travel to fellow undefeated Howard.

Wall was beaten in the semifinals last season and hasn’t made an appearance in the Dakota Dome since a runner-up finish in 2011.

In the Cowboy state top seeded Pine Bluffs will host Rocky Mountain in the 1A 9-man playoffs..

Torrington is tops in 2A and welcomes Lovell. Wheatland is in the other semi against Lyman.

Former Chadron High football coach and CSC hall-of-famer Jay Rhoades has his Douglas Wildcats in the 3A semifinals this afternoon against Jackson Hole.

Potter-Dix and Cody-Kilgore are on a collision course in the Nebraska D6 playoffs. The Coyotes host Lincoln Parkview Christian while the Pokes host Arthur County.

Scottsbluff makes the long road trip to Aurora in the Class B playoffs, a rematch of a game the Bearcats lost 43-22 back in week 3.

Sandhills/Thedford continues their trek towards a 2nd straight D1 title as they host Osceola.
