Rams Escape Warriors Once More

The Crawford girls withstood 10 lead changes in the first half to earn a 41-33 win over Sioux County Tuesday.

Sioux County opened the contest with a 4-0 lead, but Crawford outscored the Warriors 10-6 in the last half of the first quarter to tie the game at 10. The first five and half minutes of the second period was a roller coaster as the teams traded the lead until the Warriors went ahead 17-16 with 3:49 until half-time. Sioux County extended their lead to 26-18 at the break, but Crawford went on a 9-1 run at the start of the second half to tie the game at 27. Sioux County managed just another two points in the quarter, while Crawford widened their lead to 35-29.

Sioux County pulled within four in the final period but couldn’t find a way to flip the scoreboard in their favor before time expired. The Warriors were 10-of-16 from the free throw line. Sioux County was led by Kailey Klein with eight points.

Crawford was 11-of-16 from the line, including an eight-for-eight showing by Natalie Barry, who accounted for 24 of the Rams 41 points.
