Rams Split Road Games

The Crawford Rams split road games at Cody-Kilgore Friday.

The Cowboys manhandled the Rams on the gridiron, hanging 55 points on the board while their defense shutout Crawford.

Two Cody-Kilgore players rushed for more than 100 yards in the contest. Jasper Roseberry ran for 127 yards on nine carries, while Jacob Knox used 19 carries to rack up 152 yards. Each scored three touchdowns on their runs. The Cowboy defense tackled the Rams for a loss 13 times, led by Byron Skinner, who was in on six of those TFLs. Skinner also had two interceptions for the Cowboys. In addition, Cody-Kilgore sacked the Rams’ quarterback twice.

Stats for the Rams are not available.

Crawford, now 1-3, will compete at home Friday at 7 p.m. against Hay Springs.

On the volleyball court, the Rams picked up their first victory of the season against C-K in a four-set thriller. Crawford won the first set 26-24 before dropping the next 20-25. The Rams were able to turn things around and get 25-20, 25-23 wins in the final two to take the match.

The Lady Rams also competed at the Morrill Invite Saturday and added two more wins to their year. Crawford was 2-1 at the tournament, defeating Guernsey-Sunrise and Banner County in two sets apiece. The Rams swept G-S with a pair of 25-15 sets, and sailed past Banner County 25-19, 25-12. Their only loss at the tournament was to Lingle-Fort Laramie in a 21-25, 18-25 match.

The 3-17 Rams are scheduled to take on Hemingford Monday night, and will face Hay Springs at home Friday at 5 p.m.
