Rams still finding rhythm

The Crawford Rams are still looking for their first win of the season after an 0-8 start.

The Rams took one set from Hay Springs Saturday at the Sheridan County Invite but ended the weekend winless. They also fell to Hay Springs a second time, along with a loss to Hemingford, at a triangular earlier last week.

Crawford defeated Hay Springs in the first set of the tournament match 25-21, but lost momentum to drop the next two sets 10-25, 12-25. Hay Springs landed 22 kills against the Rams and 10 ace serves. The Rams faced Gordon-Rushville in their other tournament contest, with the Mustangs coming out on top 25-12, 25-7.

At the triangular last Tuesday, Hay Springs earned a two-set victory over the Rams with a pair of 25-14 sets. The Hawks managed 14 kills and 13 ace serves against the Rams’ defense. Hemingford opened their win over the Rams at the triangular with a set of 25-19 and held on for a close 25-23 win in the second set to take the match. The Bobcats put down 15 kills and seven ace serves in the contest.
