Daniel Reynolds, a redshirt freshman track and field student-athlete for Chadron State College, was recognized as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Field Athlete of the Week on Wednesday at RMACSports.org.

At the Loper Invitational meet in Kearney, Reynolds climbed up to the No. 6 spot on the 2022 NCAA DII performance list in the men’s hammer throw, sending the implement 62.02 meters (203-6) to claim the gold medal. The throw broke his own school record by more than six and a half feet, and bested teammate Shane Collins, the April 6 Athlete of the Week and runner-up in Kearney, by nearly two meters.

The pair of Eagles throwers lead the rest of the conference in the league performance list by more than 10 feet in the hammer.
