The Colorado Rockies have lost 5 straight road series after falling Sunday to the Washington Nationals 6-5.  Charlie Blackmon led off the game with a home run, but the Nationals scored twice in the 1st, 2nd, and 6th for a 6-1 lead.

The Rockies cut the margin to 6-3 with 2 in the 6th, then threatened to take the lead in the 8th. 1-out RBI singles from Brendan Rogers and Sam Hilliard made it 6-5 with runners on 1st and 3rd.

Washington closer Tanner Rainey came in and struck out Elias Diaz and Blackmon to end the threat, then set the Rockies down in order in the 9th for the save.

. Rockies starter Kyle Freeland had to be helped off the field with an apparent left leg injury with 2 outs in the 6th after landing awkwardly on a pitch.

The Rockies finish their 7-game road trip 2-5 and have lost 15 of their last 19 games. They host the Miami Marlins Monday afternoon with Rockies Q&A at 1:00 on KCSR.
