Rockies Split DH With Nationals

Loading

José Iglesias had three hits and drove in the go-ahead run in the 7th, Chad Kuhl pitched 6 1/3 innings and the Colorado Rockies beat the Washington Nationals 3-2 to split a doubleheader.

Washington had won the opener 13-7 behind Victor Robles, who homered, singled twice and drove in a career-high 6 runs as the Nationals handed the Rockies their 14th loss in their last 18 games.

In the nightcap, Colorado pushed the winning run across in the 7th inning. C.J. Cron started a two-out rally with a walk, moved to 2nd when Brendan Rodgers extended his hitting streak to 15 games with a single, then scored what would prove to be the winning run when Iglesias lined a single to left against Kyle Finnegan (1-1).
