The Senior Nationals finished their season with a 5-1 loss to Gering Sunday afternoon in Ogallala. The game was a quick and well played. The Nats took the lead in the first with Dawson Dunbar scoring on a fielder’s choice by Broc Berry. The game turned into a pitcher’s duel from there. Berry had the mound for Chadron where he threw four shutout innings before giving up two unearned runs in the fifth. Gering added on two more runs in the top of the seventh to seal the Nats fate. Berry had another great game on the mound striking out five with only one walk. Garrett Reece saw the ball well, going 2-3 at the plate. Caden Buskirk, Kobe Bissonette, and Berry had the other three hits for Chadron.

The Nationals started the tournament out with an 8-0 setback against Alliance on Friday. Dawson Dunbar took the loss for Chadron on the mound. The Nats struggled at the plate collecting only 3 hits, Dunbar with two and Bissonette with the other. Chadron bounced back in their second game against Sidney on Saturday winning 12-6. A combination of Noah Brown, Trey Hendrickson and Kobe Bissonette kept the Sidney at bay. Bissonette was the star of the game, going six innings, giving up three runs, striking out 10 with only one walk. At the plate, Berry and Quinn Bailey each went 2-3 at the plate with each collecting an RBI.
