Sheridan County Drops 10-5 Decision To Valentine In Legion Class C Area 7 Tourney

       The Sheridan County Regulators fell into the elimination bracket of the American Legion Baseball Class C Area 7 Senior Tournament in Bridgeport on Saturday .

Sheridan County, who beat Hershland 7-4 on Friday, lost their 2nd round game to #2 Valentine 10-5. 

     The 3rd-seeded Regulators drew first blood with 3 runs in the top of the 2nd.  Valentine got 1 back in the bottom of the inning and tied it with 3 in the 3rd after Sheridan County had scored once in the top of the inning.

      Valentine went up 5-4 with 1 run in 4th, then broke the game open with 5 in the 6th. The Regulators tried to rally in the 7th, but could score only once

      Sheridan County now plays tournament host Bridgeport at 5:00. Bridgeport topped Curtis in a 12-11 slugfest after giving up 6 runs in the top of the 1st. 

     Valentine takes on Imperial at 7:30 in the winner’s semifinal. Imperial eliminated Hershland 20-0 in 5 innings, pounding out 20 hits and giving up only 1.
