Simmons Had Enlightening Offseason Despite No New Contract

Denver Broncos safety Justin Simmons had an eventful offseason even though he didn’t sign the big contract extension he expected. Simmons spoke out at two peaceful protests during the racial reckoning following George Floyd’s death in police custody.


The coronavirus pandemic altered financial plans across the NFL landscape and several players who were franchise tagged ended up signing their one-year deals instead of the long-term deals they were expecting.


John Elway says he hopes to sign Simmons to a long-term deal after this upcoming season. Simmons says he welcomes that overture.
