Sioux County, G-R, Hay Springs All Trip Up In Playoffs

After jumping out to a 14-8 1st quarter lead, Hay Springs was eliminated from the D6 playoffs in a 64-44 loss to Wallace.

The Hawks trailed by just 12 at the half and kept it at that margin for most of the game but the Wildcats picked up a late 4th quarter touchdown for the final score.

Hay Springs will end the year at 5-4.

Sioux County fell behind 36-0 at the end of the 1st quarter as they were blown out by Potter-Dix 54-0 in the D6 playoffs.

It was the 2nd time this season that the 16th seeded Warriors had lost to the Coyotes.

Sioux County wraps up the season at 4-5.

Gordon-Rushville tried to put together a 2nd half comeback in a 31-15 loss to Lincoln Lutheran in the first round of the C2 playoffs. It was the first playoff appearance for Gordon-Rushville in 10 years.

Trailing 21-3 at the half, the Mustangs outscored the Warriors 12-10 over the 2nd half.

They close the season at 6-4.

Lusk won’t get a 2nd straight chance at a title in 1A 9-man football after the Tigers were upset by Wind River 36-26 on Friday night.

Lusk stayed within striking distance most of the game, trailing 28-20 moving to the 4th quarter before Wind River sealed the win.
