Sioux County Makes Quick Work of Wildcats

The Sioux County Warriors ended its regular volleyball season with a sweep of the Banner County Wildcats Friday.

The Warriors handled the Wildcats with ease, rolling to a 25-8, 25-5, 25-16 victory. The momentum in the opening set was all in Sioux County’s favor, as the Warriors began with an 8-1 lead on four kills by Tamika Eastman, one kill each by Sierra Eastman and Skylar Edmund and an ace serve by Kailey Klein. Sioux County closed out the set with a kill and an ace by Edmund.

The second set was much the same, as Edmund opened with a block and Klein landed two ace serves. The Warriors led by as much as 17-3 before finishing the set 25-5 on three Wildcat errors. The Wildcats attempted to challenge the Warriors in the third, tying the game at set points one and three, but Sioux County gained traction on consecutive kills by T. Eastman to go ahead 6-4. The Warriors never relinquished the lead, and the Wildcats never got closer than two points again.

Tamika Eastman led the Warriors offensive attack with nine kills and five ace serves, and her sister Sierra added six kills and an ace. Edmund contributed three kills, three ace serves and a block. Kailey Klein landed three ace serves and a kill, while Britney Klein added four aces. Kaylee Juhnke had a kill and an ace, while Jaime Turbiville and Rebecca Reece added one kill apiece.
