The Sioux County Warriors added another W in the win column Thursday, sweeping the Lusk Tigers in sets of 25-20, 25-14, 25-11.

The Warriors struggled early in the opening set and allowed Lusk to go up 14-9, but kills by Skylar Edmund and Karlee Juhnke helped close the gap, and an ace serve by Tamika Eastman put Sioux County within one. A tie at 15 was broken by Lusk, and the Tigers again raced out to four-point edge, 20-16. A kill and a block by Beth Krein and a kill by Kailey Klein brought the Warriors within one again. With Kodie Rempp at the serving line for nine points, the Warriors held strong on both defense and offense to win the first set.

Sioux County left little doubt about who owned the final two sets, opening up a 7-1 lead in the second with Kailey Klein at the serving line throughout. She served two aces in that run. Eastman added three kills and Edmund one to assist with the early lead. The Tigers challenged the Warriors early in the third set, tying the game at 2 and taking a brief 5-3 lead before Sioux County charged ahead. Rempp served 14 consecutive times, and Sioux County’s hitters were unstoppable at the net with Klein, Krein and Juhnke, who had 15 kills on the night, pounding out hits and blocks to give the Warriors a 17-5 lead and setting up the sweep.
