Sioux County To Face St. Francis For State Tourney Berth

The NSAA district finals volleyball pairings were announced on Thursday morning.

Sioux County, the D2-12 winner, will travel to Thedford to face perennial power Humphrey St. Francis.

The Warriors have never been to the state volleyball tournament while the Flyers will try to secure their 25th trip since the tourney began in 1973.

First serve is slated for 1:00 pm.

Sidney was the B-8 sub and is hosting Adams Central. Alliance earned a wildcard in Class B and will head to York.

Mitchell was also a wildcard pick and plays 5th seeded Syracuse in Brady. Chase County, the C1-12 winner, will match up against Pierce.

Bayard, who defeated Gordon-Rusvhville in the C2-12 championship, is off to Wood River to play #1 Oakland-Craig. Bridgeport is the 13th seed in C2 and will play Amherst in Paxton.

Garden County was a wildcard in D2 and will meet Anselmo-Merna in Hershey. South Platte is the 7th seed in D2 and gets Exeter-Milligan in Gothenburg. Arthur County was the D2-10 winner and plays against top seeded Falls City Sacred Heart at Doniphan-Trumbull.
