South Dakota Out Of FCS Playoffs; South Dakota State Advances

       The NCAA Football Championship Subdivision – FCS – playoffs started Saturday with both South Dakota and South Dakota State at home, but only SDSU was victorious

      The Jackrabbits ran for 433 yards and came up with 6 interceptions in a 56-24 rout of UC Davis.

South Dakota State trailed 3-0 and 10-7, but took command with 3 straight TDs in the 2nd quarter and never looked back.

      Isaiah Davis had a career-high 217 yards on just 15 carries while Pierre Strong Jr added a season-high 172 yards on 19 carries. 

SDSU plays 4th-seeded Sacramento State in the 2nd round this Sat. 

      South Dakota, on the other hand, never got its offense moving and lost to fellow Missouri Valley Football Conference member Southern Illinois 22-10 in its first-ever home FCS playoff game to end the season 7-5.

SIU now plays another league member, #2 North Dakota State.
