After a two year absence, sports are returning to Gillette College following a budget approval of $16-million by the district board on Wednesday morning. The budget includes over half a million dollars allocated for the hiring of a new athletic director, hiring coaches, and bringing back four previous programs and the addition of a new program.
Men’s and women’s basketball along with men’s and women’s soccer return while volleyball is set to make its debut. The earliest that sports could return to competition is 2023.
All athletic teams will rejoin NJCAA Region 9 in division 1.
