Warriors Still Seeking First Win

The Sioux County Warriors are still looking for their first win of the season after falling to Garden County and Minatare on consecutive nights.

Garden County showed up ready to play Thursday, outpacing the Warriors 31-5 in the opening eight minutes and took a 44-13 lead into the half-time break en route to a 68-29 victory. Garden County assembled a 20-6 run in the third quarter, though the Warriors were able to outscore them 10-4 in the final period. The Eagles had four players in double figures, led by J. Vargas with 16 and D. Christansen with 14. A. Smith added 11 and N. Billey contributed 10.

Sioux County hoped to earn that first win over Minatare Friday, but it slipped out of reach in the second half of the 47-30 loss. The Warriors trailed by five at half-time, 18-13, but couldn’t keep pace with Minatare after the break.
