Warriors Take Third Game From Morrill

The Sioux County girls defeated Morrill for the third time this season Saturday, in their widest margin over the Lions yet with a 67-26 victory.

Previous match-ups saw the teams playing close through the first half before the Warriors pulled away, but this time Sioux County controlled the contest from the outset. Sioux County went up 11-6 after the first quarter and widened their lead to 26-14 before half-time behind scoring by Kailey Klein and Rachel Krein in the second quarter. Klein hit two threes and netted 10 in the second quarter, while Krein added five.

Klein remained hot in the second half, hitting three from behind the arc, and Kaylee Juhnke sparked the offense in the fourth with nine points. Sioux County added 39 to board in the second half and held Morrill to 12. In addition to Klein’s five treys, her sister Britney Klein hit three and Megan Comstock added another for nine in the game.

Kailey Klein led the Warriors with 19, and Juhnke added 12.

The Sioux County boys dropped their contest with Morrill Saturday 54-20 but saw scoring from all six players on their roster. Tucker Monroe led the Warriors with seven, while the other five scored two to four points each.

Morrill went up 17-2 early and outscored the Warriors 13-6 and 19-8 in the middle two frames. The Lions finished off the game with a 5-4 run in the fourth quarter.
