The Sioux County Warriors finally broke a losing streak that has lasted since February 2020 with a 43-26 win over the Banner County Wildcats Tuesday night.

With William Skavdahl returned from the injured list, the Warriors are no longer playing with just five men, and it was enough to keep them in the game. Banner County went up 7-6 after one period of action, but the Warriors responded with a 12-5 run in the second for their first half-time lead of the season, 18-12.

Banner County came out of the break and took a 22-21 lead after three minutes of play, only to see the Warriors reclaim a 23-22 advantage a minute later. The Wildcats went back on top 24-23 with back-to-back free throws by Wyatt Onstott, but Sioux County’s Shane Gluth responded with consecutive buckets to put his team ahead 27-24. The Warriors never let go of the lead after that, capping the game with a 10-2 run in the fourth quarter.

Gluth scored 23 for the Warriors, and Tucker Monroe added 14, including four treys. Jacob Parsons was the only Wildcat in double digits with 11.
