WNCC’s Cougar Palace hosted the 38th annual playing of the West Nebraska All-Star Volleyball game on Saturday afternoon with the West coming up on top over the East 3-2, winning 25-20, 25-18, 28-26, 19-25, and 9-15.

The West won this match by sweeping the first three sets and then the East would close with a couple set wins in the fourth and fifth sets (they play all five in the all-star format).

The MVP for the West team was Chadron libero Jacey Garrett while the East got a co-MVP showing from twin sisters Kailyn and Kya Scott from Broken Bow.

The leader in kills in the match (unofficially) was Mitchell’s Macey Bosard for the West, who finished with 10. Mitchell’s Trinity Penn finished with 9 while Amauri Browning of Alliance had 7 kills with three aces with Gracen Tuttle of Ogallala tallying 8 kills in the win.

Leading the way for the East team in kills (again, unofficially) was Ansley-Litchfield’s Carli Bailey and Broken Bow’s Kya Scott, who both finished with 7 in the loss.

The West now leads the all-time series over the East 23-14.
