Cold shooting in the first half doomed Sioux County Saturday against Banner County, despite the Warriors outscoring the Wildcats 24-19 in the second half.

Banner County went up 10-3 early as a trey by Sioux County’s Tucker Monroe was the only shot to fall in the opening period. The Warriors cold streak continued in the second quarter, as they netted two free throws by Shane Gluth and Jack Hunter and a field goal by Gluth to trail 21-7 at half-time.

Things turned around for the Warriors after the break, but time ran out before they could complete a come-back. Banner County took the win 40-31. Sioux County went 10-of-20 from the free throw line. William Skavdahl led the Warriors with 12 points, followed by Gluth with 11.

Jacob Parsons led the Wildcats with 12, including a seven of 10 showing from the charity stripe.
