John Axtell can admit to being the longest and second- longest serving news director in KCSR history. His first stint from Jan 1987-July 1991 ended when the station and KQSK were sold to different owners and he stayed with KQSK (with the blessings of Dennis and Kathi). John returned April 1, 2015, and is now looking forward to the 50th anniversary in less than 2 years of his first time on the air Jan 17, 1972, at his college radio station in Oregon.
