State Cross Country Runs Today In Kearney

The Nebraska high school state cross country championships are today at the Kearney Country Club.

The Chadron girls squad will try to better last years 4th place finish after claiming runner-up honors at the district meet last week in Ogallala. Mackenzie Anderson, and Makinley and Micaiah Fuller and Lela Tewahade are all runners with state experience while Aliya Mills and Grace Pyle are making their first trips.

The Chadron boys have a trio in Nathan Burch, Carter Ryan, and Gavin Sloan. Burch is making his 4th trip while Ryan is a repeat performer. Sloan is a state newby after taking 13th at districts.

Crawford’s Jillian Brennan is in the Class D field for the 2nd time in her high school career. Brennan was at the state meet as a Sophomore in 2018.

The Class D girls race will start off the day at 11:00 am.

Class C girls will run at 12:30 pm, followed by the Class C boys at 1:00 pm.
