Sunday Crash Near Lead Kills Motorcycle Rider

The South Dakota Highway Patrol says a motorcycle rider was killed in a one-vehicle accident early Sunday morning west of Lead. The name of the 28-year old man is being withheld pending notification of family members.

The Highway Patrol says the man was westbound on Highway 14A when he failed to negotiate a curve and lost control.

The motorcycle went across the east lane and into the ditch, at which point the rider was thrown from the bike. He was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene.
