RAPID CITY, S.D. – The South Dakota Highway Patrol says a 66-year old man was killed about dawn Sunday in a one-vehicle crash in the Black Hills southwest of Nemo. The man’s name and town have not been released pending notification of family.
The Patrol says the man was alone and driving northeast on a rural road about 4 miles from Nemo when his SUV left the pavement and went into the east ditch.
He then tried to drive out of the ditch, but the SUV vaulted off the roadway, collided with a tree and overturned, landing on its roof. The man, who was wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene. The South Dakota Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
