Third Candidate Files For Chadron City Council

CHADRON – A third candidate has filed for the two Chadron City Council seats on this year’s ballot, and it’s a familiar name – if not a familiar face.

AJ Bassett was a candidate for the council 2 years ago, but did not actively campaign and did not take part in the KCSR/Chadron Record Candidate Forum for the general election before finishing last out of the four candidates.

Having filed so far are incumbent Keith Crofutt and challenger Joe Johndreau, an unsuccessful candidate for school board two years ago. The other incumbent, George Klein, is not running again.

The deadline for incumbents to file for any office in the May Primary is a week from Tuesday, the 18th, while non-incumbents have until March 2nd to file.
