Funeral services for 34-year old Thomas Catches a.k.a. Lincoln “JoeBoo” Cross Dog III are Friday, Feb 5, 2021 at 10:00 at the 4-H Building in Chadron, NE, with Pastor Russ Seger officiating
Burial is at the Catches Family Cemetery in Calico Community-Pine Ridge, SD.
A one-night wake service starts Thursday at 10:00 AM, also at the 4-H Building in Chadron
Lincoln Joseph Cross Dog III, also known as Thomas Joseph Catches was born on September 23, 1986 in Pine Ridge, SD to Arvella June Catches and Lincoln Cross Dog, Jr. He made his Spiritual Journey on January 26, 2021 at his residence in Chadron, NE.
Thomas Joseph was known as “Joe Boo” by his family and friends. Joe attended Wolf Creek School in Pine Ridge, SD and Chadron High School in Chadron, NE.
Joe was quick to help when needed and was always available when it came to his nieces and nephews. He loved to hang out with friends & family, he sometimes played softball and liked to throw horseshoes.
If Joe wasn’t making his rounds visiting, he would call just to check in, he loved his family wholeheartedly. Joe Boo, you will be missed dearly.
Thomas is survived by his mother, Arvella June Catches of Chadron, NE; sisters, Laura Catches of Chadron, NE and Mary Catches of New Town, ND; aunts, Bernice Catches of Martin, SD, Emily Catches of New Town, ND, Edelyn “Sis” Catches and Judy Catches both of Chadron, NE, Wanda Cross Dog of Calico Community, SD, and Marilyn Cross Dog of Wisconsin; uncles, Rex Crow and Ronald Cross Dog both of Oglala, SD, Chester Cross Dog, Sr. and William Cross Dog both of Rapid City, SD, and Linn Cross Dog of Calico Community, SD.
Thomas was preceded in death by his father, Lincoln Joseph Cross Dog, Jr.; grandparents, Everett and Hildegard Catches, Lincoln Cross Dog, Sr., and Florence (Walks Out) Cross Dog; great grandmother, Rose Catches; uncles, Martin Catches, Sr., Gaylord Catches, Sr., Elroy Catches, Sr., Marvin Catches, Milton Cross Dog, Caesar Cross Dog, John Cross Dog, Sr., and Bradley Cross Dog; aunt, Flora “Tweet” Cross Dog, Oleta Faye Cross Dog, and Doreen Richards; and cousin, Gaylord Catches, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Mark New Holy, Chris New Holy, Robert Catches, Martin Catches, Jr., Tom Catches, Sr., Kevin Catches, Elroy Catches, Jr., Jacob Catches, Larry Richards, Augustine Taylor, Ricky Bissonette, and Ron Kingi.
Honorary pallbearers will be all Friends & Families.
