Torrington Warden New Wyo Prision Division Administrator

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) – The warden of the Wyoming Medium Correctional Institution in Torrington is the next Prison Division Administrator for the Wyoming Dept of Corrections.

Eddie Wilson has been warden in Torrington since 2016.

Corrections Director Bob Lampert says Wilson’s strong blend of security and program experience will be an asset to the Prison Division. He starts July 1st, but with a transition period of several months.

Wilson came to Wyoming in Nov 2006 as Associated Warden at the State Penitentiary in Rawlins, then was named its warden in April 2016 – a post he held until taking over the Torrington facility in July 2017.

Before coming to Wyoming, Wilson was a 26-year veteran of the Texas Dept of Criminal Justice – starting as a correctional officer before working his way up to administrative positions in a career that covered all levels of security from minimum custody to maximum security.
