Authorities say 2 men died Wednesday afternoon in an explosion in a rail car tanker at a repair facility in central Wyoming.
Shoshoni Police Chief Chris Konja says the explosion at Wasatch Railcar Repair was reported at 3:24 PM.
Two men, ages 18 and 28, were unresponsive in an oil tanker but because of noxious gases no rescue attempts could be made until the arrival of a specialized confined-quarters team from the Casper Fire Department.
Chief Konja says members of the team were able to recover the 2 bodies from the tanker.
Konja also says his department is still investigating the cause of the blast in coordination with OSHA and the Federal Railroad Administration.
